OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD This year, Reeves Temple, Curry, Merrick & Williams Chapel CME Churches, of the 4th Episcopal District, is providing its members and the community the unique opportunity to share Christ with a needy child. We are all invited to share the joy of Christmas, this year, by participating in Operation Christmas Child; an exciting program that demonstrates God's love through gift-filled shoe boxes. Each year caring individuals, families, churches, schools, businesses, and other groups fill shoe boxes with toys, school supplies, and other items to ultimately be delivered to Samaritan's Purse, a Christian relief and evangelism organization. These gift-filled boxes are then delivered worldwide to millions of children affected by war, poverty, disease, and disaster. Last year, Samaritan's Purse collected more than 5.4 million gift-filled shoe boxes in Australia, Canada, Finland, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and the United States, and delivered them to children in over 90 countries. These shoe boxes opened doors for presenting the Good News of Jesus Christ through children's literature, personal witnessing, and evangelistic programs. Since the inception of Samaritan's Purse, in 1970, many lives have been changed for eternity. In a collective effort the Children & Youth Ministries of Reeves Temple (Rev. Dr. H. Leon Williams), Curry & Merrick Chapel (Rev. Charles Mitchell), and Williams Chapel (Rev. Robert Spencer) CME Churches, will give time and energy to fill and decorate shoe boxes for children around the world. Please join us this year in sharing the true meaning of Christmas through Operation Christmas Child. For more information on Samaritan's Purse please visit their website at www.samaritanspurse.org.
