Phillips School of Theology http://www.itc.edu

Established in 1944 on the campus of Lane College in Jackson, TN, Phillips School of Theology was named for its benefactor, Senior Bishop Charles Henry Phillips.  In 1950, the General Conference of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church designated the seminary as a connectional school, entitling it to the support of the denomination.  In 1958, Phillips School of Theology, which is the only seminary of the CME church, moved to Atlanta and became a founding constituent of The ITC.

ADDITIONAL Online Christian Resources

Visit the CME News Page on http://www.flashlyt.com for links to Christian Resources.  Highlighted this month is:

Life Text http://www.lifetext.net/pages/1/index.htm

LifeText was originally developed as TeenText - a discussion guide for helping high school youth (9th-12th grades) make the connection between Biblical text and their lives and times. We began to hear more and more that the materials worked for people of other ages as well, so as of January 2003 TeenText becomes LifeText.

The interactive format facilitates individual understanding, ownership and continued exploration beyond the classroom. The process lowers barriers and invites connection by getting participants out of their heads and into their hearts. Over time, it helps them view the Bible as a vital, dynamic, relevant
resource, one that can inform the whole of their lives

Please pray that my husband and I become one. We have been married over 50 years and live as if we are single. This has been going on for years and years. I love him but he does not let me get beyond the wall he has built and I have put up a defense. I believe he loves me but he has told me many times he does not.

I am asking for some prayers for my 14 yr old son, who has lost his way off the proper path. He has been fooled by phony friends to do things and act in such ways that are not what I want for him. He is young and doesn't really understand what he could end up living like because of his choices. He is inside I know, still a good boy with all the right things I have taught him. Please give him the extra strength to find his way back. His name is Brandon. I Love him more then anything else in the world. Please help me.

—  Kim

Wednesday, December 25, 2002 3:24:34 AM
Please pray for the salvation of my husband Christopher. We are separated and have children, and the last couple of years have been realy hard on all of us, mostly the children. I love my children very much and it hurts me very much to see my children through all that thay go through. I watch them pray for my husbands' salvation all the time, thay know that if he would only come to know the Lord he would not be so angery all the time. So please pray with my children and my self for the salvation of Christopher. Thank You

—  Andrea

Wednesday, December 25, 2002 3:14:36 AM
There's no simpler way to say that I don't want to be a backslider anymore, but it's been so hard for me to get my life together with God, please pray for what I would consider as a miracle in my life, that I can once again have God number one in my life asap and forever.

—  Denise

Wednesday, December 25, 2002 12:29:06 AM
I have been invited to go to Central America (Nicaragua) on a missionary trip in March 2003. Please pray for me and my wife as we travel and that God will be glorified, the people blessed and that many will come to salvation by faith in God through Jesus Christ. Thank you in advance for your prayers. Dekontee

Wednesday, December 25, 2002 12:10:44 AM
Please pray for the salvation and healing of my family. We need God's healing touch in our lives so very much. Pray for God's will to be done in our lives. I know God answers all prayers - help me pray that I will be able to discern God's answer and not be confused by my own wants or by satans tricks. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Monthly Meditation Message

You know, we need to understand God's holiness. For truly, only He is worthy to be praised, and yet so

often some of us act as if there's nothing special about God at all. There is no life in our prayers, we

decide to skip church, or ignore opportunities to share Christ with those around us. Our actions

say, no big deal. It is a big deal. God is the biggest deal of our lives. Everything we do should exalt the

Lord and show others just how important He is to us. Anytime we can experience the holiness and

majesty of the Lord, we should jump at the chance.  Nothing pleases God more. One thing we can do

to please God, we can help feed His people in need.

PRAYER: Father, You are so important to me. Help me to prove, through the living of my life, how much

You mean to me. Lord, inspire me with Your holiness, and let me worship You always. Father

God, I want to do what is right. Be my anchor and support, O Lord. When the day gets roughest, help

me to remember that I am firmly establish on Your Spirit and in Your love. Lord, if I'm to be an example

of what it means to follow Christ, than help me to be the best example I can be. Guide me by Your

Spirit, Father. Search my life, Dear Lord. Keep me walking in the light, and prevent me from straying

into darkness. Thank You Father, for this day. Dear Lord, bless those that' are in hospitals, or

homes. Lord, bless those in our prisons. Let Your light shine upon them, Father. Let Your light shine

bright on the path that leads to You O Lord, so those who are searching for You, may find You.

Thank You Father, for the love, and understanding.

In Jesus’ name. Amen.
